Man on benefit motorcycle ride around country stops in Fargo
FARGO - Doug Oakley - a 46-year-old financial services professional who was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as "Lou Gehrig’s disease - is undertaking a “4 Corners Motorcycle Ride” to the four corners of the U.S. to raise funds and awareness for the care of patients with ALS. Oakley will be stopping in Fargo today and Wednesday before heading toward the fourth corner of his trip, Machias, Mass.

FARGO - Doug Oakley - a 46-year-old financial services professional who was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as "Lou Gehrig’s disease - is undertaking a “4 Corners Motorcycle Ride” to the four corners of the U.S. to raise funds and awareness for the care of patients with ALS. Oakley will be stopping in Fargo today and Wednesday before heading toward the fourth corner of his trip, Machias, Maine.
Oakley is riding to raise money for a Cape Cod, Mass.-based non-profit organization, Compassionate Care ALS, which cares for ALS patients. The organization will receive all donations, according to a news release.
During his ride, Oakley and a friend will drive around the perimeter of the United States, stopping at the corners of the country: Key West, Fla.; San Luis Obispo, Calif.; Blaine, Wash.; and Machias, Maine. They began the 8,300-mile long ride at the first corner in Key West on May 14th.
