Stephen Hawking writing a children’s book

By M&C News Jun 15, 2007, 15:49 GMT

Stephen Hawking, the physicist known for his best selling book, A Brief History of Time, will now be writing a 'middle grade' children’s book, with the help of his daughter, Lucy Hawking. It will be called George's Secret Key to the Universe.

According to the Associated Press release, Simon & Schuster Children's division said, “Just like 'A Brief History of Time' inspired millions of adult minds around the globe, 'George's Secret Key to the Universe' will make this complex material readily accessible to a younger audience."

Hawking was born in 1942 and he is the professor of mathematics at the University of Cambridge in England. He is disabled by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS which in the US is commonly known Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The co-authored book will be published this fall.
